How to Get a Summer Body Fast

Before you know it you’ll be on the beach and enjoying nice warm summer weather. Of course that means fewer clothes and less places to hide. For more confidence and to look your best this year follow these tips and discover how to get a summer body fast.

Get Moving

Just like bears hibernate in the winter you may have a tendency to “hunker” down and stay indoors when it’s cold out. However, all that inactivity can make it hard to feel comfortable “baring” it all at the beach.
Now that the weather’s getting a little nicer it’s time to get moving. If you can get outside for a walk, jog or hike do it. The fresh air and activity will do wonders for you. If it’s still a bit too chilly to get outdoors move around the house. Put on some music and dance, try Yoga, Pilates or a workout tape. Moving helps energize you, build muscle and burn unwanted calories. All of which will help you feel more confident this summer.

Track What You’re Eating

If your swim suit seems to have shrunk over the winter you might need to shed a few pounds to be ready to hit the sand in style! Studies have shown that tracking what you’re eating can have a dramatic and positive impact on your waistline.

If you’ve ever tried it you know how eye opening it can be. It works for a couple of reasons:

1 – It provides some great accountability

2- It increases your awareness

Try keeping a diary and write down everything you eat over the course of a day (you might be shocked). For the most success write it down as it happens (don’t wait until the end of the day). Use a notepad or one of a dozen smartphone apps like LoseIT to make it easy to track.

Cut Out a few things like Sodium, Sugar and Alcohol

While salt doesn’t increase body fat it does cause water retention and that can show up on the scale. So cut back or eliminate adding salt to your foods. Instead try using garlic and /or herbs like rosemary, basil, thyme, oregano, and parsley. You’re food will taste great and you won’t even miss the salt.

Eating too much sugar causes your body to store the extra energy produced in fat cells in your body.[1] Sugar is also a contributing factor to inflammation in the body. In fact, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported…

“…that processed sugars and other high-glycemic starches increase inflammation, which causes pain, overheating, redness and swelling.

While inflammation is an important part of the body’s healing process, chronic inflammation is at the root of many deadly diseases.”

Balancing your blood sugar (and eliminating excess sugar) can help you look and feel better. By the way, that includes alcohol which acts just like sugar in the body.

Fill Up on Raw Veggies

If veggies dominate your plate you’ll be filling up on the most nutritious food on the planet! You’ll be healthier and you’ll eat less of the foods that are working against your goals.

When you include leafy greens you’re also benefiting from lipoic acid. Lipoic acid is a compound that boosts the production of leptin,[2] a hormone which helps dampen hunger cravings.

Drink Water

To look your best this summer drink lots of water! Water helps you feel full, hydrates you, gives you energy and helps you maintain a healthy weight. Water also helps flush toxins from your body which keeps you healthy. How much water should you drink? Use this formula to determine your minimum daily allotment:

Body Weight divided by 2 = the number of ounces you should consume per day! For instance if you weigh 200 pounds you should consume at least 100 ounces of water per day.

Summary
