3 Miracle Foods for Younger Looking Skin

Younger Looking Skin

Did you know that most adults have about 22 square feet of skin covering their body? [1]  Your skin is super important! It’s your largest organ and responsible for guarding you from extreme temperatures, damaging UV rays, harmful chemicals and even helps rid your body of toxins. As you age your skin loses some of it’s elasticity and the result can be sagging and wrinkling. Keeping your skin looking young and healthy requires proper nutrition. The following three miracle foods provide important nutrients needed for younger looking skin.

GUAVA

Guava is a tropical fruit which is packed with vitamin C, in fact one Guava contains about 4 times the amount of vitamin C you find in an orange![2]  Vitamin C helps produce collagen which gives the skin its strength and structure. It also plays a role in the replacement of dead skin cells.[3]

BRAZIL NUTS

Brazil nuts are a fantastic source of selenium which is a building block for Glutathione. Glutathione is an antioxidant which helps fight free radicals in your body, slowing the aging process.[4] The great thing about this miracle food is that it’s pretty easy to get your daily allowance. You only need one to two Brazil nuts per day to get enough selenium.

SWEET POTATO

Studies show that eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can give you a healthier, more attractive complexion. Those who eat more portions of red and orange fruits and vegetables seem to have an advantage. A disease fighting compound called carotenoid found in those foods is the key.[5] If you want to increase carotenoid(s) in your diet one of the easiest ways to do it is by adding sweet potatoes. Just 1/2 a sweet potato with the skin provides 200 percent of your daily recommended intake.

When you give your body the nutrients needed to support vital organs like your skin, it can improve your health and help you look and feel younger.
